Overview of HUUM HIVE Heat
HUUM HIVE Heat comes in two different models: 12 and 12 LS. What makes this stove different from other wood stoves is its engineering. The furnace is constructed in an innovative way that allows a more efficient burning process. Normally the stove has one burning process in its chamber and then the wood gas escapes through the chimney. However, the HIVE Heat has two burning processes.
First one is in the chamber as usual. Then the engineering kicks in. The second burning process is initialized inside the stove making the wood gas burn. This way the wood is utilized much more efficiently and the heater is more eco-friendly. Much less of the wood gas escapes through the chimney making the heater more efficient. This means that the requires less wood to operate compared to a basic wood burning stove.
About the LS Extension
As mentioned above, the LS means that the heater has an extended firebox. Why would the heater have an extended firebox? The extended firebox allows you to insert wood from an adjoined room. It allows you to pass the box through the wall and therefore insert wood from the comfort of the next room. Few benefits of this design:
- Sauna is easier to maintain clean when you don’t have to bring wood in
- Convenience - you don’t have to always enter the sauna and bring wood with you
- Comfort & safety - if the sauna floor is wet and slippery, you don’t have to operate the heater from the sauna
Accessories
We offer several accessories for HIVE sauna stoves:
- Chimney kits - if you don’t have a chimney yet, you can go for the official HUUM chimney kit. Learn more about those in their dedicated pages
- Protective bed - You place the protective bed under the heater. Protects the floor if made out of combustible materials and possible underlying floor heating system.
- HUUM Cage - A nice add on. You can hide the chimney and improve the aesthetics of the heater. Put them around the chimney and fill with stones. You can stack them on top of each other or just go with one. Keep in mind that you have to buy additional stones to fill the cages.
