I have a Commercial Project:
Lets take a look how we can help you with your commercial project.
I Want to Size my Heater:
Size your heater based on your preferred brand.
Electric Sauna Heater:
Most popular sauna heater type. Perfect choice for frequent sauna goer, thanks to the convenience of usage. Also perfect option for commercial facilities, looking to use their sauna daily.
Wood Stove:
Offers the most authentic sauna experience. The original sauna heater type. Great for summer houses, or any off-grid places. In our opinion, more of an option for weekly sauna going rather than daily.
Wall Mounted:
Mounted on the wall—usually in a corner to save space—these heaters are designed for small to mid-sized saunas, with options available up to 9 kW.
Free Standing:
This heater type provides flexibility in positioning, suitable for central or corner placement within the sauna as per your choice.
Don't know:
Not sure yet? Choose this option, and we'll recommend both wall-mounted and floor-standing heaters
Thru-Ceiling or Thru-Wall
When using a wood-burning stove, it's important to consider how the chimney will be routed. While going through the ceiling is most common, routing it through the wall is also a viable option—often chosen for construction reasons or to achieve a cleaner exterior look.
Luxury:
If you want aesthetic or state-of-the-art heaters, select this option. We'll recommend HUUM & Saunum heaters.
Durability:
Just want something that works? Go with this option. Harvia is the most popular sauna heater brand in the world—affordable, reliable, and used around the world.
No Preference:
Choose this if you want to explore across all heater types.
Dimensions
The first thing to consider when sizing a heater is the size of your sauna. Enter your sauna's dimensions in either feet or inches.
Total Volume
Already know the total volume of your sauna? Just enter that instead of the dimensions.
Examples
If you're not sure about your sauna's size but want to explore your options, you can use these example values to get started:
Next thing to consider is the area of cold surfaces, typically glass or stone walls or a glass door. Enter the dimensions of the cold area. (Note that floor doesn't matter. Don't include that).
Already added up all your cold surfaces? If you've calculated the total—or have several sections—you can just enter the combined area instead of dimensions.
Typical glass sauna door is approximately 12 ft2 to 15 ft2
Insulation
You'll usually have a range of suitable heaters to choose from. If you live in a colder climate and your sauna is uninsulated, it's generally a good idea to select a heater from the higher end of that range to ensure optimal heating performance.
Brand
The final thing to consider is the brand of the heater. The sizing guidelines slightly differ between different brands due to unique design features.
Result: Your sauna's adjusted volume is cubic feet
