HUUM HIVE is a floor-standing electric sauna heater built for medium to very large sauna rooms. When sized correctly, HIVE can reach temperatures up to 230°F. Thanks to its very large stone capacity, HIVE delivers soft steam and even heat throughout the room, which sauna bathers love.
HUUM HIVE Overview
HIVE takes HUUM’s signature look and maximizes it for performance: a round, open stone basket for efficient airflow, even heating, and generous löyly. The Mini series fits many home builds that are a bit larger than DROP rooms. The full HIVE series covers big residential rooms that would overwhelm typical wall-mount units. 
Control System
All HUUM sauna heaters use the same control system. This control system is called UKU. In all HUUM sauna heaters, there will be an external control panel for controlling the sauna.
HUUM allows the UKU to be installed inside the sauna room, as long as their specific instructions regarding the placement are followed. However, it's more common to install your control panel right outside the sauna, where it doesn't get exposed to heat and humidity.
HUUM offers an additional feature to all UKU controls that allows you to control the sauna remotely through an app on your phone.
Technical Details
HUUM HIVE comes in six configurations across two series: HIVE Mini (6, 9, 11 kW) and HIVE (12, 15, 18 kW). The bigger your sauna, the greater the kilowatt power your heater needs. Within each series, the physical cage size is the same, so there are no notable differences in the look of the heater. Higher kW models include more heating elements inside the basket.
Here are the electrical specs when you wire your HIVE sauna heater with 240 V:
- HIVE Mini 6 kW for sauna rooms sized 177–318 ft³. This model draws 25 A, requires a 30 A circuit breaker, and uses 10 AWG wire.
- HIVE Mini 9 kW for sauna rooms sized 283–460 ft³. This model draws 37.5 A, requires a 50 A circuit breaker, and uses 6 AWG wire.
- HIVE Mini 10.5 kW for sauna rooms sized 354–566 ft³. This model draws 43.75 A, requires a 50 A circuit breaker, and uses 6 AWG wire.
- HIVE 12 kW for sauna rooms sized 424–636 ft³. This model draws 50 A, requires two 30 A circuit breakers, and uses two 10 AWG feeds.
- HIVE 15 kW for sauna rooms sized 530–813 ft³. This model draws 62.5 A, requires two 50 A circuit breakers, and uses two 6 AWG feeds.
- HIVE 18 kW for sauna rooms sized 636–989 ft³. This model draws 75 A, requires two 50 A circuit breakers, and uses two 6 AWG feeds.

- Adjust for cold surfaces such as glass, tile, and stone to maintain warm-up speed and steam quality.
