Our Huum Drop Sauna Heaters

HUUM Drop is an award winning wall-mounted sauna heater. HUUM Drop is available in 4.5kW, 6kW, 7.5kW and 9kW. HUUM Drop heaters can be wired with either 240V/1PH or 208V/1PH. However, if you wire your drop with 208V, please take into consideration that it decreases the power output by 25%. Contact us if you need help sizing your sauna heater correctly.

Overview of Each HUUM Drop Size

As said earlier, drop comes in 4.5kW, 6kW, 7.5kW or 9kW configurations. Sizing of the cage is the same with each configuration, so there’s no notable difference in the look on the heater. However, the bigger the heater, the more heating elements there is inside the heater itself, which allows each model to be more powerful than the previous one.

Here are the specifications when you wire your Drop sauna heater with 240V:

HUUM Drop 4.5kW is designed to power sauna rooms between 106 adjusted cubic feet and 247 adjusted cubic feet. This model draws in 18.75 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 30 Amps and Wire size 10 AWG.
HUUM Drop 6kW is designed to power sauna rooms between 177 adjusted cubic feet and 353 adjusted cubic feet. Drop 6 draws in 25 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 30 Amps and Wire size 10 AWG.
Drop 7.5kW is designed to power sauna rooms between 247 adjusted cubic feet and 424 adjusted cubic feet. Drop 7.5 draws in 31.45 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 40 Amps and Wire size 8 AWG.
Lastly Drop 9 is designed to power sauna rooms between 282 adjusted cubic feet and 530 adjusted cubic feet. Drop 9 draws in 37.5 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 50 Amps and Wire size 8 AWG.

If your electrical network can handle the additional amperage and you’re thinking whether you should go with a bigger or smaller Drop, choose bigger. This way the heater can reach higher temperatures, heat up your sauna faster, and will have a longer lifespan.

Overview Huum Drop In General

HUUM Drop has a large rock capacity, which guarantees mild even steam to create a superior sauna experience. Large rock capacity and eye-catching design are known as HUUMs trademark. These two things combined have made the Drop one of the most popular sauna heaters in North-America in 2023.

Drop heater uses an external control panel, placed preferably outside of the sauna room. Controller system HUUM uses is called HUUM UKU. UKU controls are available in multiple designs and functions. HUUM UKU local lets you control the sauna environment from the control panel itself, while HUUM UKU WiFi allows the sauna to be controlled through an app on your phone.

HUUM Drop heaters are made in Tartu, Estonia, by skilled Estonian craftsmen. We have had the pleasure of visiting this factory in the past, and try out the Drop ourselves. HUUM Drop Accessories

Starting in 2024, all larger models of the Drop heater will include a heating element separator as part of their standard package. This innovative addition is designed to secure the heating elements in place, preventing any movement. Previously, some customers reported issues with heating elements breaking due to movement within their housing after several years of use. The introduction of the heating element separator addresses and resolves this issue, ensuring greater durability and reliability of the heaters.

Other than the heating element separator, we have embedding flange and safety railing available as separate accessories you can get with your HUUM Drop.

The HUUM Flange D embedding flange is useful when you are planning to install your DROP stove partly inside the sauna bench. It is made of stainless steel and it covers up the wooden edges around the stove, leaving the final result looking refined and smooth.

Safety railing for DROP heaters helps to protect you from accidentally touching against the hot heater cage. The safety railing consists of light-colored wooden arcs and stainless steel supports to attach them to the heater. Not only does the railing provide extra safety – but it is also a nice way to style your heater.
