How they work
Infrared saunas work by using infrared light waves to heat your body directly, rather than heating the air around you like traditional saunas. These invisible wavelengths penetrate your skin and warm you from the inside out, promoting circulation, relaxation, and detoxification all at lower air temperatures. This makes the experience more comfortable while still delivering deep, therapeutic heat.
In hybrid saunas, infrared panels are paired with a traditional sauna heater to deliver the best of both worlds. You get the deep, penetrating warmth of infrared along with the steam and higher temperatures produced by the traditional heater making it a versatile experience that appeals to everyone.
Finnmark’s cabins pair UL-listed Spectrum Plus short-wave emitters with Spectrum Carbon 360° long-wave panels for true full-spectrum coverage. The panels are placed around the cabin for even, 360° warmth and quick heat-up. Basically, what that means is that the short waves reach deeper for quick, through-the-body warmth, while the long waves are absorbed closer to the surface to keep the heat smooth and even.
All Finnmark Sauna cabins are made for indoor use, but you can also place them outside if you get the optional cover for it (the barrels are made for outside use to begin with).
What we offer
Finnmark is the only infrared sauna cabin we offer since they are high quality, and the cabins can reach higher temperatures than usually achieved in infrared saunas. All Finnmark cabins can reach 170°F, and the hybrid versions with a traditional sauna heater can get even hotter, around to 200°F.
What are the options?
Finnmark's models are as follows:
- FD-1, FD-2, and FD-3: The only ones that are full infrared only and made for indoor use (without the cover). The smallest-sized cabin is FD-1, made for 1 person, and FD-3, fitting 4 people.
- FD-4 and FD-5: Hybrid sauna that features infrared panels with the traditional heater. These cabins have a similar design to their full infrared siblings and fit up to 4 people.
- FD-6 and FD-7: These are the only ones made for outdoor use and are also the only barrel-shaped cabins from Finnmark. They also include the infrared panels along with the traditional heater to provide that hotter experience. The only difference between the two is the materials used in construction; FD-6 utilizes Western Canadian Cedar, and FD-7 uses Thermo-Aspen.
Which cabin is for me?
- Think how many people are going to be using the sauna, or if you want some extra space to stretch, it is good to up the size.
- Decide if you want a full infrared or hybrid sauna cabin.
Select the model that fits your space and needs. - Make sure that if going outdoors on FD-1 to FD-5, you will need to get the optional cover on it as well. The sauna barrels are made outdoors from the get-go.
