SGS Certification & UL Standards
The certification process was conducted by SGS, an internationally recognized company. A common misconception in the US is that only UL can grant UL certifications. This is not true. SGS, as an NRTL, is authorized by OSHA to certify products with UL standards. This authority is backed by a historical precedent where other NRTLs were allowed to provide UL certifications. Accreditations & Recognitions
SGS is also accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), a leading accreditation body. In addition, SGS has been recognized by the NFPA for their standards on fire and electrical safety.

SGS Certification Context
Per OSHA guidelines, products don't need to be listed by only UL or ETL, but they must be listed by an OSHA-recognized NRTL. SGS, as a part of the global TIC group, is one such recognized NRTL.
