KIP is the most popular sauna heater model ever produced. It's made by Harvia. Harvia is the world's largest sauna manufacturer with over 75 years of leadership in the sauna industry. 

Suppose I had to summarise why KIP has been so successful. In that case, the reason is that it's priced relatively low while offering reliable performance and quick heat-up times.

About Harvia KIP

KIP is a series of wall-mounted sauna heaters. With a box-like design and compact size, KIP takes up minimal space in your sauna room. Thanks to its low rock capacity, the heat rises quickly from this heater. KIP heats up the quickest of all the sauna heaters I have seen. 

KIPs are made for small to medium-sized saunas. The biggest 8kW KIP can heat saunas up to 425 adjusted cubic feet. To determine whether that's enough for your sauna, use our size calculator.

Harvia KIP Control System

KIP models are sold with 2 different types of control systems: built-in control knobs and external control panels that include the option to control your sauna heater remotely. 

Build In Control Knobs

KIP-B models have 2 control knobs on the bottom of the heater. One for controlling the temperature and another for managing the time. You can't choose an exact temperature from the temperature knob - you can only select whether the heater is running at 100% capacity or something less.

When it comes to the heat-up time, you can turn the knob to the maximum, and the heater will run for an hour. After that, you need to turn it on again for a more extended period; otherwise, the heater will turn off.

Selecting a sauna heater with integrated control knobs provides an affordable and straightforward alternative to the more elaborate heaters that many people opt for these days. While it has its drawbacks, many still appreciate the manual feel and simplicity of this solution.

External Control System

Like most Harvia sauna heater models, the KIP-W requires pairing with the Harvia Xenio control system. Complete packages in this collection already include that system and the rocks for the heater.

With Xenio, you can control your sauna either through an app on your phone or from the control panel installed somewhere near your sauna room. Note that remote controllability requires the system to be connected to a wifi. With an external control system, you can decide the exact temperature you would like your sauna to reach.
