HUUM Drop Overview

HUUM Drop has a large rock capacity, which guarantees mild, even steam to create a superior sauna experience. Large rock capacity and eye-catching design are known as HUUM's trademarks. These two things combined have made the Drop one of the most popular sauna heaters in North America in 2025.

Control System

All HUUM sauna heaters use the same control system. This control system is called UKU. In all HUUM sauna heaters, there will be an external control panel for controlling the sauna.

HUUM allows the UKU to be installed inside the sauna room, as long as their specific instructions regarding the placement are followed. However, it's more common to install your control panel right outside the sauna, where it doesn't get exposed to heat and humidity.

HUUM offers an additional feature to all UKU controls that allows you to control the sauna remotely through an app on your phone.

Technical Details

HUUM Drop comes in four different configurations. The bigger your sauna, the greater the kilowatt power your sauna heater needs to have.

Physical size of the cage is the same with each configuration, so there are no notable differences in the look of the heater; however, the bigger the heater, the more heating elements there are inside the cage.

Here are the electrical specs when you wire your Drop sauna heater with 240V:

  • HUUM Drop 4.5kW for sauna rooms sized 106 - 247 ft3. This model draws in 18.75 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 30 Amps, and uses 10 AWG wire.
  • HUUM Drop 6kW for sauna rooms sized 177- 318 ft3. Drop 6 draws in 25 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 30 Amps, and Wire size 10 AWG.
  • Drop 7.5kW for sauna rooms sized 248 - 389 ft3. Drop 7.5 draws in 31.45 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 40 Amps, and Wire size 8 AWG.
  • Drop 9 for sauna rooms sized 282 - 460 ft3. Drop 9 draws in 37.5 Amps, requires a circuit breaker of 50 Amps, and Wire size 8 AWG.

Sizing Guidance

  1. Calculate your room volume in cubic feet.
  2. Adjust for cold surfaces such as glass, tile, and stone to maintain warm-up speed and steam quality.
  3. Consider insulation for outdoor cabins.
  4. If you are between models, choose the larger firebox for faster heat-up and better recovery between water ladling.
