Different Harvia Stoves Explained

There are three different models you can choose from: Legend, Linear, and Pro. Legend offers the best possible sauna experience overall, while Pro and Linear offer the more classical sauna heater style.

Harvia Legend

The Harvia Legend is a top-quality model with a large stone capacity, providing an exceptional and lasting sauna experience. With plenty of rocks, you can choose how you want your steam with each ladle of water you pour. 

If you throw water on the side of the heater, you'll create softer, more cloud-like steam. But if you ladle water on top of the stones, you'll get sharper steam. This happens because the rocks are at different temperatures in a big pile, allowing you to enjoy various types of steam based on how you pour the water.

Another benefit of large rock capacity is that the heat is distributed more evenly. This means that instead of feeling hot spots and cooler areas, the warmth is more evenly spread throughout your sauna. This happens because more stones can radiate heat, making your sauna experience more comfortable. In contrast, saunas with fewer stones might not heat up as evenly.

Harvia Linear

Classical sauna heaters with lower rock capacity, resulting in faster heat-up times. Simple sculptural design adds timeless style to the sauna. Harvia Linear is suitable for small home saunas and for sauna enthusiasts who prefer a simple design.

Harvia Pro

Harvia Pro models are classical wood-burning sauna heaters suitable for large saunas. Pro heaters are efficient and a fast source of heat - they heat up faster than the Legend models and are capable of powering larger saunas.

Duo Configurations

Some sauna builders like to embed their heater through a wall. This design gives you a lovely fireplace to enjoy in your dressing room. It also ensures that no debris is carried into a sauna room with firewood, thus keeping the sauna room cleaner.

Duo heaters are designed for this purpose, featuring extended fire chambers that you can run through your sauna wall.

Installing Your Harvia Stove

When installing a wood stove, consider the following factors:

  • You will need to install a chimney.
  • Wood stoves get really hot. Especially the bottom of the sauna heater, where the fire chamber is located, will be extremely hot. This means you will need to place protective bedding under the heater to prevent burning your floor.
  • You will need to ensure each stove's specific safety distances to combustible materials are met. This means, unless you want to burn your sauna, you need to leave some room between your wooden sauna structures and the stove.

Complete packages in this collection include a chimney kit, a protective floor plate, and a heat shield that can be placed around the heater.
